Radisson’s history

Radisson is a town in Saskatchewan named after Pierre-Esprit Radisson (1636–1710), the explorer who was instrumental in creating the Hudson's Bay Company.

The town sits where the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) passes through its northeastern part, linking it with Saskatoon and The Battlefords. Highway 340 begins in Radisson and runs north past Radisson Lake to Hafford. The Canadian National Railway's Aberdeen Subdivision also runs through town, and Radisson Airport lies next to it.

Among the people associated with Radisson is Bill Hajt, a former ice hockey player.
